Arabian Oryx

The Arabian Oryx is a small-bodied, mostly white antelope with long, straight, symmetrical horns that adorn both males and females. These gorgeous creatures are thought to have inspired the legend of the unicorn, as when viewed from the side they appear to have only one horn. As you can read in our Conservation section of the web page, we are especially proud of our successful efforts to grow their population to a level that will hopefully soon be viable for reintroduction to their native habitat of the Arabian Peninsula, where they were hunted to almost near extinction by royalty and oil barons. The Patio has not only increased their numbers but successfully bred and harvested the #1 world record Arabian Oryx. These antelope, though smaller, yield great quality meat that is treasured by hunters.
